Science Week in Ms Kennedy's Class

12th Nov 2021

On Monday, we were curious about why the ocean is salty. Ask us and we can tell you the answer. In the process, we even discovered why flamingo's are pink! We tested eggs in water to see if they could float. We now know that they will float in salty water.

On Tuesday, we were curious about what makes river water flow. We learned that the source of the river is in a high place and the river eventually flows down to the sea. We made models to show our learning.

On Wednesday, we were curious about the work of scientists. We used the iPads to explore what type of work scientists do and what equipment they use.

On Thursday, we were curious about what items in our classroom float or sink. We tested lots of items and recorded our results.

On Friday, we put our new skills in origami to the test and designed paper boats. We checked that our boats could float and then gradually added Lego pieces to test the strength.
