FriendShip Week

16th Oct 2025

Friendship Week at St. Marnock’s 💛

This week, we celebrated Friendship Week in St. Marnock’s — a special time dedicated to kindness, inclusion, and the true meaning of friendship. Our school was filled with smiles, teamwork, and creativity as every class took part in a range of wonderful activities.

Learning About Our Bí Cineálta Policy

To begin the week, each class explored our new Bí Cineálta Policy, learning what it means to show kindness and respect in our school community. The children then worked together to create their own child-led Bí Cineálta posters, expressing their personal understanding of what being kind truly looks like. The results were fantastic — colourful, thoughtful, and full of positive messages!

Buddy Jigsaw Activity

Next, classes paired up with their buddy classes for a whole-school Jigsaw Piece Activity. Every child received their own jigsaw piece to design and decorate, writing their name and favourite hobby on it before adding it to the display boards in the hall.
Together, the pieces formed a beautiful, connected mural — a perfect symbol of how every student in St. Marnock’s has an important place in our community, all linked together through kindness and friendship. 🧩💛

Friendship Week Assemblies

To round off the week, Ms. Trimble led four wonderful Friendship Week Assemblies on Wednesday. Each assembly featured performances and presentations from different classes.

  • Junior Infants melted hearts with their rendition of Helping Hand.

  • 1st Class brought smiles all around with You’ve Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story.

  • 4th Class gave a soulful performance of Lean on Me by Bill Withers.

  • And 5th Class impressed everyone with You’ve Got a Friend in Me performed through Lámh.

In addition, pupils from each class shared their Friendship Week activities, showing how they explored and celebrated friendship in their own unique ways.

A Week to Remember

A massive well done to all the children and teachers involved for making Friendship Week such a success. The activities, creativity, and performances truly captured what it means to be part of St. Marnock’s — a community where everyone belongs and kindness connects us all.
