Massive win vs St Oliver Plunketts
It was a night to remember for the lads as they battled their way to a hard-earned 3–1 victory against St Oliver Plunketts in Gannon Park on Tuesday evening.
Playing away from home, the conditions made for a real test of character. A blustery wind and persistent rain swept across the astro pitch, setting the stage for a tough encounter from the first whistle. With the wind at their backs in the first half, the team made the most of the advantage, putting in a strong, disciplined performance. Their efforts paid off as they found the net to take a deserved 1–0 lead into the break.
The second half was always going to be a different challenge. Facing into the wind and what felt like an uphill battle, the lads had to dig deep. St Oliver Plunketts came out strongly and managed to equalise from a corner, putting the pressure firmly on.
Despite the difficult conditions, the team showed great resilience. It was no easy task even getting the ball out of our own half, but determination and teamwork never wavered. A brilliant ball played in behind the defence led to a crucial goal, restoring our lead at 2–1.
From there, confidence grew, and the lads pushed on. Their hard work was rewarded with a third goal, sealing an impressive 3–1 win on a night where effort and attitude made all the difference.
There were some standout performances across the pitch, but this was truly a collective team effort. Every player contributed to a well-earned victory, supported by excellent organisation and decision-making from the sideline in what can only be described as a managerial masterclass from Mr Cooper.
A fantastic result in very challenging conditions — well done to all involved!
