Safer Internet Day 11th February 2025

Mr. Maughan's Sixth Class marked safer internet day by learning about the dangers of sharing hurtful or inappropriate images of others online. We looked at a video on webwise.ie that showed a boy taking a picture of another boy and making him look foolish in it. He shared it and soon the whole school had seen it and were laughing at the boy. 

Then we did a worksheet that showed how the number of people that see images on apps like whatsapp multiplies every time they are shared. After an hour, tens of thousands of people have received the same image.
