Senior Boys Football

16th Oct 2025

Senior Lads Do St. Marnock’s Proud! 🖤💛

Our Senior Boys’ Football Team put in a tremendous performance on Thursday in their semi-final clash against Scoil Mobhí at Ellenfield Park. With the girls having already booked their place in the final, the lads took to the pitch determined to match that success — and they certainly did the school proud!

Despite the dry weather, the pitch proved tricky underfoot, but that didn’t stop our boys from getting off to a flying start, racing into an early two-point lead. What followed was a real battle of skill, teamwork, and heart. The game was tight from start to finish — point for point, attack for attack — as both sides gave it everything.

Playing a Donegal-style brand of football, our lads worked brilliantly together, handpassing and carrying the ball up the field, creating plenty of scoring chances. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be on the day. A superb display from the Scoil Mobhí goalkeeper and a few unlucky wides tipped the balance in their favour.

Still, this campaign has been nothing short of outstanding. The team has played four group fixtures, a quarter-final, and a semi-final, with most of those games away from home — a huge achievement in itself. They have represented their club, school, and families with pride, passion, and sportsmanship throughout the season.

We couldn’t be prouder of their efforts and commitment. We know this won’t be the last we see of their talent — with soccer, hurling, and plenty more sport still to come this year!

Well done, lads!
Marnocks Abú! 🖤💛
