Senior Girls Make the Last Step

16th Oct 2025

Senior Girls March to Croke Park! 🖤💛

What a week for St. Marnock’s! Our Senior Girls’ Football Team played their semi-final on Tuesday against Scoil Naithí in Naomh Mearnóg, and what a performance it was!

A big crowd turned up on the day, with even more supporters arriving as our junior teams prepared to take on St. Helen’s soon after. The excitement — and nerves — were high! It took a huge effort from players and coaches alike to calm the butterflies and get everyone focused for the big game.

The girls had a tough start but showed incredible resilience and teamwork to grow into the match. There were some heroic performances all over the pitch, none more so than from the three girls in the full-back line, who led by example and stood strong as our last line of defence. Several players sacrificed their own attacking games to mark key opposition threats — a true display of commitment and teamwork.

As the game went on, the fitness, hunger, and skill of the Marnocks girls really began to shine. Their determination and belief saw them battle to an extremely hard-fought victory, booking their place in the Corn Tadhg Kenny Final.

And what a reward awaits — Croke Park! 🏟️
Next Tuesday at 12:10pm, our girls will step onto the hallowed turf to take on Corpus Christi, a momentous occasion for the school and the entire community.

This achievement is the result of hard work, dedication, and teamwork — and the girls have not only earned the right to play in one of the greatest stadiums in the world, but also created the opportunity for other students to travel and support them on the day.

A massive well done to all involved, and best of luck next week!
We’ll all be cheering you on.

Marnocks Abú! 🖤💛
