Steelers Flag Football Tournament

25th Mar 2026

๐Ÿˆ St Marnock’s NS Shine at Pittsburgh Steelers Flag Football Tournament ๐Ÿˆ

St Marnock’s NS proudly competed in a Pittsburgh Steelers Flag Football tournament today at Sports Campus Ireland — and what an incredible day it was!

Our flag football team took part in a brilliantly organised event run by OBE on behalf of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The students had an unforgettable experience, including meeting famous Steelers players and taking part in a one-minute combine where they tested their jumping ability and speed.

They also enjoyed warm-ups led by specially trained NFL Flag coaches, giving them a real taste of professional-level preparation.

The team then went on to play four group games, followed by a semi-final and a final. In a fantastic display of teamwork and skill, St Marnock’s NS faced St Oliver Plunkett’s in the final and came away with an emphatic victory!

A huge congratulations to the entire team on an outstanding performance, and a massive thank you to the Steelers for hosting such a memorable event.

๐Ÿ‘ Special Shout Out ๐Ÿ‘
A special mention goes to Henry Dingly and Sean Clarke from 6th class, who took on a particularly brave challenge today. The organisers reached out to our school looking for two boys to join an all-girls school team, as flag football requires both boys and girls on each team to maximise participation.

Henry and Sean stepped up without hesitation and represented both schools brilliantly, helping the team reach the semi-final — an amazing achievement!

Well done again to everyone involved — a day to remember for St Marnock’s NS!
