Cyber Safety Day

6th Feb 2024
Sixth class took a great opportunity to travel on the Dart to visit it Malahide Library.

Even though the weather was against us, the children stuck their raincoats on and braved the weather. They walked to Portmarnock Dart Station and were welcomed onto the Dart by the fantastic staff in Irish Rail.

They travelled on the Dart to Malahide and walked to the Fingal local library. They were split into two groups. One group went upstairs and took part in a Cyber Safety lesson. They learned about their digital footprint and cyber bullying. The children learned the rules of social media and how to be safe online. They also learned about cyber bullying, it's causes and effects.

Group two were lucky on the day that Malahide Library were kind enough to let them in out of the rain and afforded them the opportunity to find a quiet corner to read a book of their choice. We would like to thank Fingal Libraries for their help in hosting the event today.
