Shera Zhu wins national writing competition

23rd May 2023

St. Marnock's National School is delighted to announce that Shera Zhu from Mr. Spellacy's 6th class, is a national winner in the An Post Sustainability Writing Competition.  The competition focused on the future of Ireland and the theme was “A Happier and Healthier Ireland 2030”. With a spotlight on sustainability and how we can all play our part in making positive change for the future, pupils were asked to write their favourite ways to make Ireland happier and healthier in a letter.  Mr. Spellacy's 6th  class submitted letters and drawings to this competition in March and Shera's submission was recently announced as a national winner.   Our school received this message from AN POST: "Huge congratulations are due to Shera Zhu from St. Marnock's National School as her submission was chosen as 5th and 6th Class National Gold Winner in this year’s An Post Primary School Writing Competition! An Post received over 8,000 entries of a very high standard this year, so Shera should be very proud of this massive achievement".    All of us at St. Marnock's NS are very proud of Shera's great creative and artistic achievement!   You can see her winning artwork here. Well done Shera!
