Sports Week Debate

Today, the fourth classes held a debate in the school hall organised by Ms Kenealy. The motion up for debate was 'Competitive sports for children should be abolished'. The debate was attended by children from third up to sixth classes. It was a lively debate with members of both teams delivering their arguments clearly and effectively. Ms. Kenealy organised and coached the for and against teams.

Then the chairperson chose children from the floor to come up and make their arguments. Mr. Spellecy even came up and threw in his tuppence worth!

The 'for' team were on the Red side of the Sports week competition and the 'against' team were on the Blue side. In the end, the blues won and the motion was carried.
